RISE Academy was created by a team of parents who wanted a school choice in their community that would prepare their kids through Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics. A school that would make them better innovators, educators, leaders, and learners of the 21st century!
STEAM a pathway to integrative learning
RISE Academy Charter School will endeavor to teach students the academic, social-emotional, and character skills needed to be college and career ready. RISE Academy Charter School students will develop as critical thinkers, civic leaders, and socially responsible citizens that are integral to their communities and beyond. Our vision has never wavered, establish a safe school environment in which students are inspired to take risks to gain skills to be successful in the local and global communities.
RISE Academy Charter School will be a harbor of innovation and accountability where students, staff and families are key collaborators in the decision-making processes. By providing a school based on best practices, RISE Academy Charter School will be a change agent in the community.

STEAM is an educational approach to learning that uses Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics as access points for guiding student inquiry, dialogue, and critical thinking. The end results are students who take thoughtful risks, engage in experiential learning, persist in problem-solving, embrace collaboration, and work through the creative process.

STEAM is an integrated approach to learning which requires an intentional connection between standards, assessments and lesson design/implementation.
Technology
True STEAM experiences involve two or more standards from Science, Technology, Engineering, Math and the Arts to be taught AND assessed in and through each other.
Engineering
Inquiry, collaboration, and an emphasis on process-based learning are at the heart of the STEAM approach.
Arts
Utilizing and leveraging the integrity of the arts themselves is essential to an authentic STEAM initiative.
